At OLIN, we pride ourselves on our commitment to nurturing future generations of design talent, and each summer we open our doors to a select group of landscape architecture students. 2011 was a record year for OLIN’s Internship Program—we received nearly 100 highly-qualified applicants. The four designers who rose to the top of this pool have already demonstrated an unparalleled level of creative talent, dedication to the profession and idealistic vision, and we are thrilled to welcome them as they begin this exciting next step in their careers.

Nicholas Mitchell, who will receive his Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture in December 2012 from Purdue University, will be working with OLIN for an entire year as our 2011-2012 Purdue Intern.  Indeed, his interest in turf extends beyond just landscape architecture, as Nicholas is also an avid golfer.

Reva Meeks is the recipient of the 2011 OLIN Fellowship given to one University of Pennsylvania School of Design student per year. She graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture from the Fay Jones School of Architecture and is preparing to receive her Master of Landscape Architecture with a certificate in Urban Design from the University of Pennsylvania in 2012. Reva uses her planning and placement skills in more than just her landscape architecture studies however, describing herself as a “master” of the board game Risk.

Jack Ohly joins us from the University of Pennsylvania where he is a 2012 Master of Landscape Architecture candidate. Jack graduated from Brown University with a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts and also has a passion for music, playing the upright bass and the drums for the West Philadelphia Orchestra.

Travis Mueller first majored in Music and Business Administration at the University of Texas at Austin before transferring to the University of Arizona to earn his Master of Landscape Architecture.  When he’s not studying or in studio, Travis teaches trombone.
