In the May installment of OLIN’s monthly symposia exploring the connections between theory and practice, we invited three distinguished guests to lead an in-depth discussion on the ways in which beauty informs and affects theory in creating landscapes. The panelists included: Nicholas Pevzner, Landscape Designer at Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates and Associate Editor for Landscape Urbanism; Todd Montgomery, Landscape Designer at Andropogon Associates; and Robert Goodman, Philadelphia-based Visual Artist. The symposium also included a presentation, via video from our studio in Los Angeles, by Associate Karen Janosky and Landscape Designer Jenny Jones, who discussed the notion of beauty and the sublime in a myriad of landscape forms.
