Laurie’s Journey
The Antefix, a blog devoted to the discussion of space and place in art, design and literature, recently posted an article in which author Michael Griffith details Partner Laurie Olin’s writings in Across the Open Field: Essays Drawn from English Landscapes, along with his personal journey designing, drawing and writing.
“Despite having worked in remarkable offices for distinguished architects on both coasts,” Olin writes, “despite having designed and built handsome, thoughtful buildings and having drawings and paintings in museums and collections before I was thirty, I had already left the field of architecture twice for extended periods to paint, write, and sort myself out.”
