National Mall Design Competition

OLIN, in collaboration with Weiss/Manfredi, has been shortlisted for the second stage of the National Mall Design Competition. Our team will present qualifications for two project sites along the Mall: Constitution Gardens and the Washington Monument grounds at Sylvan Theater.
When dedicated on June 17, 1986, President Ronald Reagan declared Constitution Gardens a “living legacy tribute” to the United States’ guiding document; our team’s proposal seeks to reinvigorate this venerated space. The Washington Monument grounds at Sylvan Theatre presents a unique opportunity to apply our collective experience in rejuvenating sensitive cultural landscapes to a highly visited – yet underutilized – site neighboring one of the nation’s most iconic structures.
