New Face

OLIN welcomes Ben Lawrence, Landscape Designer. Ben’s passion lies in the dynamic relationship between the urban built environment and the natural world—how they coexist and can be made to function harmoniously. Ben earned a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from North Carolina State University, with a minor in Forest Management from the College of Natural Resources. At NC State, he focused his studies on urban design—specifically, the ability of public landscapes to enhance urban life by creating connections to nature, thereby reducing dependence on suburban sprawl. Following graduation, Ben worked with the Montana Conservation Corps, designing and maintaining trail systems and restoring habitat for wildlife.  He then earned a position as a landscape technician for the National Park Service, for which he surveyed and documented historic landscapes within the Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument.
