Transforming Philly’s Waterfront

Transforming Philly’s Waterfront

In an evening meeting last week, the Master Plan for the Central Delaware: Transforming Philadelphia’s Waterfront was presented to 500 members of the public, as well as community and civic leaders. OLIN CEO/Partner Lucinda Sanders presented the team’s vision for enhancing public space on the site, including the incorporation of parks every half-mile along the extensive six miles of urban waterfront. This network of civic spaces will be realized through a public financing strategy focused on revitalizing the site’s basic infrastructure, including not only parks and trails, but also streets and utilities. These critical improvements will serve as catalysts for high-quality private development on priority sites, supporting Philadelphia’s transformation into a twenty-first century lifestyle city.
