Since a young age, Carlos has always felt a connection to landscape architecture, shaped by his early travels across Mexico. These experiences sparked his passion for nature, design, and cultural diversity. Over the years, he has built a broad portfolio of work across the U.S., Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Northern and West Africa, and China. His expertise covers a wide range of project types in both private and public sectors, from conceptual design to detailed resolution and construction observation.
Since joining OLIN in 2016, Carlos has contributed significantly to some of the firm’s most prominent West Coast projects. Notable among them are Apple Park in Cupertino and Google Bay View in Mountain View, where his skills in design, management, and construction administration played a key role in the successful completion of these landscapes. He has also worked on public parks, including the Visioning and Master Plan for the Binational Park in Laredo, Texas, and the refresh of Charleston Park in Mountain View, California, which was completed in 2021.
Currently, Carlos is leading OLIN’s landscape design for several confidential master plans in Northern and Southern California, two workplace garden renovations for tech clients, and the new U.S. Embassy in Brazil. He is also collaborating with Laurie Olin and Skip Graffam on the completion of the Observatory at Apple Park.
