Partner of Digital Practice, Director of Technology
As Partner of Digital Design and Director of Technology at OLIN, Chris Hanley evaluates and implements emergent design technologies, develops multi-disciplinary project management processes, and oversees design technology development and implementation. He has more than 25 years’ experience in both landscape architecture and the technology sector, enabling him to identify solutions that continually evolve OLIN’s digital capabilities and processes used to represent and communicate the studio’s design acumen.
Chris has provided BIM and Parametric modelling consultation to many of OLIN’s projects over the last 25 years, including US embassies, technology campuses, and parks.
In addition to his role as Partner of Digital Practice, providing BIM and computational design direction, he also leads OLIN’s cyber security and virtualization teams, focusing on providing OLIN’s full digital design capabilities in a virtual environment, while implementing/maintain and evolving our cyber security posture according to industry standards.
He was previously a member of the Board of Advisors at Gehry Technologies, (acquired by Trimble), a strategic alliance of design professionals that was dedicated to transforming the effectiveness of the building industry through the use of technology. He has lectured at universities, as well as advised a board of leading Landscape Architecture firm CEO’s, on evolving their digital and computational infrastructures.
