Since joining OLIN's Los Angeles office in 2015, Joanna Karaman has worked on significant projects in Los Angeles County including the Culver City Parks Plan, the LA River Master Plan Update, the Colburn School of Dance, and the Sportsmen’s Lodge. Through these projects and other experiences, Joanna has developed a familiarity and passion for the plant communities of the arid and semi-arid landscapes of the American West. Her work includes deep community listening and engagement to weave together ecology and art. She has also researched and worked on topics of resilience, climate change, and land stewardship, through experiences such as OLIN Labs Land Management @ Scale and Rebuild by Design. Joanna presented her work at various conferences, including the 2022 ASLA National Conference, the 2024 California GreenBuild conference, and the 2024 Net Zero Conference.
