125 years of
women at penn

OLIN’s design, in collaboration with artist Jenny Holzer, is a curving walkway of text-based sculpture located along a major pedestrian route at the University of Pennsylvania. The project honors 125 Years of Women at Penn, and was built in accordance with OLIN’s Campus Development Plan for the university. Holzer selected quotations from alumnae, faculty and municipal leaders, which were engraved on granite benches and the walk­way’s granite curb. At the mid-point of the walkway, a redwood boardwalk crosses a swale, representing a stream that once flowed through the site.
